My Position
In the past, I have stated that I wanted to secure funding to help build better infrastructure for the Rockford and Belvidere area. Since elected, I’ve invested in community building projects including the Hard Rock Casino, expanding the Rockford Airport and managing upkeep, and focusing on expanding and maintaining roads for continued economic growth. A growing, well-kept Rockford is exactly what the community deserves.
What I’ve Accomplished
I worked with State and Federal lawmakers to bring in $2.6 million in grants from the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) to upgrade aircraft parking lots, as well as $4.5 million in stat funding for maintenance and upgrading of airport facilities.
The Rockford Casino is now a reality! The Casino is completely finished with an addition for a Hotel and Spa expected to be finished in late 2027 to early 2028.
I sponsored HR0207-”Rebuild Illinois Support Resolution”, which urges the General Assembly and the Governor's Administration to invest transportation and infrastructure dollars as promised under Rebuild Illinois to make good on our collective commitment to fix our roads, bridges, and schools while creating jobs and opportunities for all residents of Illinois.
I helped secure the Metra to Rockford. This will help Rockford residents have an easier commute into the city and help connect Rockford to many Chicago suburbs. I worked to come to an agreement between the Rockford airport and the Bell Bowl Prairie Life area. In this agreement, the Rockford airport was able to expand their operations that include a massive warehouse, new international vacation flights, and infrastructure upgrades. I also sponsored HB3510- “Energy Efficient Building Act”. This bill creates energy guidelines for companies and developers to follow to create more efficient building standards and sustainable efforts.
Future Plans
I have already helped invest $1 million dollars of road repairs to Rockford and would like to bring another 1 Million in the future. I will continue to fight for the residents of Rockford and bring them the needed infrastructure needed for proper economic and city growth.
